Premier League Kicks

CACT’s Premier League Kicks programme uses the power of sport to engage and inspire young people aged between 8 to 18 years of age. The sessions are FREE for all boys and girls (from 8 years old) to attend and aim to help participants reach their full potential.

Funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund, the programme builds safer, stronger, and more respectful communities through the development of young peoples’ aspirations. Kicks engages youngsters who had previously proven difficult to reach, guiding them towards a range of positive and constructive activities, such as workshops, practical qualifications, and volunteering opportunities they may otherwise not have access to.

As part of our Kicks provision there are extended opportunities for all participants. The Kicks Representative squads have recently travelled to Tottenham Hotspur FC, Brentford FC, Northampton Town FC, and St George's Park for workshops, fixtures and national tournaments, whilst other participants have travelled away for four-day outdoor adventure residential trips!

The free sessions are proven to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and increase interest in sports, whilst creating life-changing opportunities that lead young people to find employment and education, and harness the physical, social and mental benefits physical activity has to offer.

Former Premier League Kicks participants include Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling, Declan Rice and Wilfried Zaha.

Helen, whose daughter Mel has attended adapted Kicks sessions, said:

“Mel really enjoyed it: first time out the house in months, the first time I’ve seen her this happy. Just to be able to kick a ball on a pitch for the first time since March so thank you”.

Molly has been attending sessions since 2019, her mother said:

“Molly is learning to develop more confidence, meeting new friends and she has had a few amazing opportunities.  “All the staff we have met at CACT have been fantastic. Molly loves her sports and is always encouraged and kept motivated.”

Premier League Inspires

Premier League Inspires is an education programme, developed by the Premier League and professional football clubs and supported by the PFA.

The programme uses the power of football to inspire children and young people aged 11-25 to develop the personal skills and positive attitudes needed to succeed in life.

It prepares participants for further education and employment, by empowering them to develop personal, social, employability and life-skills.

To find out more about about the Premier League Inspires programme, please contact Kim Dixson, CACT's Risk and Violence Reduction Manager, on Kim.Dixson@cact.org.uk
